🌊 NC18 takes you from Mediterranean autumn through the Atlantic into the tropical Caribbean — here's what to expect at each stage.
Barcelona — Departure (2 November)
November in Barcelona is mild and pleasant — autumn has arrived but it's rarely cold.
- Temperature: 14–20°C / 57–68°F
- Rainfall: October-November is one of the wetter periods in Barcelona; occasional rain showers possible
- What to wear: Light layers, a jacket for evenings
- Sea conditions: Mediterranean is calm in November
Tangier, Morocco — Port Stop (4 November)
- Temperature: 18–24°C / 64–75°F
- Rainfall: Occasional light showers possible
- What to wear: Light layers; modest dress recommended for the medina
- UV: Moderate — sunscreen still advisable
Atlantic Crossing — At Sea (5–11 November)
The North Atlantic in early November is the most variable part of the journey. Expect some movement!
- Air temperature on deck: 18–25°C / 64–77°F (warming as you head south)
- Sea state: Can be choppy, especially in the first few days. Bring seasickness remedies.
- Wind: Often breezy on the open deck
- Tip: The ship's stabilisers handle most of the motion well, but a rough day or two is common on Atlantic crossings
💡 If you're prone to motion sickness, take precautions from day one. Scopolamine patches, antihistamines (Dramamine), or ginger supplements all help.
St. John's, Antigua (12 November)
